Sabbath?

Today is one of my few days in December that I had nothing on the calendar. My hope was that I would be able to spend the day being lazy - reading a book, wrapping some presents, maybe working on my scrapbook.

But first I had to rake the leaves.

19 bags later ... yes, literally 19 ... you'd just be glad it's all finished, right?

Yeah, right!

This is what's left in the front yard. That speed limit sign is the end of my property.

If you look carefully (and yes, I know it's sideways), you can see the 19 bags I raked piled up at the end of this mass of leaves.

I had Shiloh standing in the leaves so you could get an idea how many are still left in the back. They come to her chest!

So ... when I ran out of daylight, I decided that what I really wanted for dinner was homemade pizza. So I made one. Yum!

After pizza, I decided that if the Christmas tree was going up at all this year, it had to be today, so I put it up. I went with all silver, clear, and white ornaments this year, and I think I really like it.

Somehow, I also managed to hand wash the kitchen and bathroom floors, vacuum the house, tidy up the bathroom and the walk-in closet, and do three loads of laundry!

Oy! What a great "day off." But I guess the good news is that now that stuff is all finished, and after Tuesday all of those leaves will be gone for good.

Oh right ... THIS is my tree!

I love the tree!!!!!
Travis and the boys just finished the leaves in our yard last night.
We have our tree up, but nothing on it... I'm thinking about going with the minimalist approach this year.

I am sorry that you had to do it by yourself. I can't stand raking leaves. Your Christmas tree looks great.

Thanks for your sweet comment! Our neighborhood just has baby trees - in the summer we are wishing for shade, but in the fall we love it that we don't have to rake!!! Maybe you can relax tomorrow!!
